This is the Desktop Format version of the Applet. The Applet will run in a separate Frame once it has been downloaded and initialized. Please note that it may take some time before it appears as the Applet and resources must be downloaded (approximately 2MB) and the Java Plug-In must be initialized.
The Applet cannot access your file system but it comes with its own “virtual” file system with two sample images. Use the Choose Image option to select an image and the use Make Puzzle to make and play with the puzzle.
Some instructions for making the puzzle.
o Click a piece with the mouse to rotate it a quarter turn clockwise.
o Press and Drag a piece with the mouse to move it. You can attempt to drop it into the puzzle and if it is in the right place it will stay there. If it is not it will move back to its original spot. You can exchange pieces by moving one onto another.
o Press the Cursor Up and Cursor Down keys to make the background brighter or darker. This may make the pieces easier to see.
o Press the Cursor Left and Cursor Right keys to re-arrange the unsolved pieces. They are re-arranged as close to the playing board as possible and each time they are rearranged differently. This means that if there are pieces outside the viewable area, they will eventually become viewable once you keep pressing Left or Right.
o Press the Enter key to reveal the full image on the playing board. Press Enter again to remove it.
o To abort the current puzzle just close that window and you will be returned to the main image selection window.
